Gary Mead, Civil Engineer, PE, started Mead
Construction Co. Inc. 24 years ago. To date, Mead Construction has built approximately 125 custom
homes in New Fairfield, Greater Danbury, and Redding areas. From the very beginning, purchasing the
raw land, to the last cobblestone that is layed, Mr. Mead is always “on the job,” in his office, in
front of his drafting board, at town meetings, on the job site, preparing the roads, driveways,
house sites, building the homes, and at closings with attorneys and extremely pleased buyers.
Gary prides himself with never missing a closing date in 24 years; many a happy buyer has closed
earlier than anticipated. He is a committed member of the Town of New Fairfield, giving open space
for every sub-division he builds with walking paths on many. When it comes to volunteering, he steps
up to the plate, donating the trophies every year to the town for the Run for Turkeys Road Race.
Just recently, he donated heavy equipment and operators to place artificial turf on the high school
football field. His dedication started when he entered Villanova University after attending
Stamford Catholic High School in Stamford Connecticut. He graduated in 1969 with his degree in Civil
Engineering. His work experience in his early years from surveying to septic design has facilitated
his expertise in the design and building of new sub-divisions, from start to finish, paying close
attention to detail.
